Doggie and Me (2)

Although I had blogged about The Story of Doggie and Me,

I'm going to talk about the whole of her life spent with me, this time more detailed ...

This is her, her name is Haze.

The letter to my dear Hazie Girl~
It was one sunny day, when I went for a visit to my aunts house.
Outside my aunts house, your uncles and aunties were playing around. The road, the house compounds were your homes...
When we first saw you, you were just a tiny pup that was a few weeks old. We fell in love with you, so my siblings and I discussed to ask for my parents permission to adopt you.
But, sadly, my parents didn't agree with that.

After that, I joined a camp that is needed to stay in school. I didn't think to much at that time, cos if my parents didn't agree with something, it won't be easy to pursue them...
When I finally went home on the last day of camp, I got a surprise, cos sitting in front of my door was you. You were still so tiny, and not so furry. As you were still very unfamiliar with the new environment, you didn't dare to come near us.
And I also was scared of dogs at that time, so I didn't dare to go near you too...

I remember one time, when it was raining with thunder and lightning outside,
we were worried about you, if you'll be afraid or so...
But, when we tried to call you into the house, you didn't come, so, we thought that you had ran off, and will never come back anymore, I was kinda sad that time, but, when the rain stopped, we heard a noise under the computer table, and when we looked under the table, there you were, hiding there, we laughed at your cleverness, and you made our day...
Below, is the grill door you came in from, so you can imagine how small you were at that time...

As I was still afraid to go near you, I didn't make much contact with you.
You were the one who made the first move to make me stop fearing bout dogs...
At that time, I was helping my dad to move the sofa into the van to take for repair...
Suddenly, I felt a wet lick on my leg. It was the first time I got licked by a dog, it was unexpectedly great, I didn't know why, after that lick, I wasn't so afraid of you, although I admit that when I first felt it and found out that I was licked by you, I was like shouting," Pa, faster, she's licking me!!!"

But after that lick, we gradually became closer and closer, like sisters, can't be separated...
I started to teach you tricks, and gave you treats, straight from my hand.
The bond in us were closer than ever...

I remembered when you spoiled a shoe,
you were punished by getting tied up a little while...

Like others, we wanted to give you a collar, to make sure no one will take you away from us...
But you didn't like it, and always find ways to take it off, but, we will always put it back on for you...
We only gave up when you took it off for the last time, as you had bit it into pieces ...

To ease your boredom, we bought your first toy- a plastic bone...
You loved it, and kept playing with it, we used the bone to play fetch with you, but, when we wanted to take it back from you, you would growl at us, so,
the only way to get the bone from you, is by shifting your view to another side, then snatch it away... We had so much fun playing that...

When you had your first injection and operation, I couldn't bare it without you at home, I kept pestering my parents to take me to the hospital to see you...
And seeing the stich on your wound was stable, I brought you home...
But, on the second day, I saw blood dripping, I thought it was menses, but, when looked carefully, I saw that it wasn't menses, but the stich has broken up. My mum tried to use plasters to seal the wound but, you kept on licking on it...
I was crying and begging you to stop licking the wound.
In the end you were sent back to the hospital, this time till your wounds were healed...

Later, I found out another of your favourite foods, that's prawn crackers...
Every time we bite into it, and when you hear the sound of the cracker being bit into, you'll dash to the front of the door, and if we won't give you, you'll bark and bark till you're given some...
Since then, if we wanted to eat prawn crackers without you knowing, we'll have to close the glass door to prevent from you hearing the sound (even though the sound will sometimes escape the glass door into your ears, and we had to end up giving you some )
Since you like to eat so much, I would sometimes share my food with you,
for example, bringing my apple out, and we'll take turns eating it...

During CNY, when we played with fire crackers, you'll bark like crazy, and I'll go over to calm you down... And when the light the red firecrackers, I used my hands to cover your ears and my shoulders to cover mine, my back was hit by the flying fragments from the fire crackers...
I was even scolded for taking care of your ears more than mine... Haha... but I know it worth it...

Sometimes, when we're not noticing, you'll sneak into the house...
and try to hide behind the curtain? Haha...
And if you're chased out, you'll hide in your favourite spots

But now, your favourite spots, will be nothing but...

the gardening spot ...
 The bicycle spot...
 and the front door...
The place you poop, will just be a normal front porch...

There won't be any chance to feed you your food,

and give you treats when you have done well...

There won't be chances to see you sunbath...

Nor, will you be looking forward to my returns...

Or someone to talk and play with when I'm hanging the clothes...

When I step out, you won't be there running towards me...

Or, will you sit on my lap, when I sit in front of the door...

No one to play "hand hand" anymore...

There are too many memories with you, now, I only can wish you, to rebirth in a better place, and be happier...
Goodbye, my dear Hazie Girl~

Although it seems long, but, I still feel that there are still so much more that I haven't written... :'(

Wesak Day Exhibition~

Well well well, how long have I not updated...
Well, because I was kinda busy organizing my camp, so I'm sorry ya~
Although it's kinda late to update about this topic, but, I'd still like to share it... :)

Today, I'm gonna share something that's got to do with Wesak Day.

What is Wesak Day??

Well, Wesak Day commemorates the birth, enlightenment and death of  Buddha.
On Wesak Day, we go to temples and shower the small Buddha Statue, which will be set up on that day. We shower the Buddha not to clean the statue, but the dirt in our soul, the dirt in our mind, and the dirt in our heart.

But, today the main thing I want to share with you guys is the exhibition I attended in May.

This is a picture of the night view of Samadhi.

A small stage was set up with an auto light up system behind the head.
Lights will light up when someone leans on the pane behind the head.
The purpose the did this is to let us experience the atmosphere when Buddha was meditating under the Bodhi Tree.
(p/s: if you look carefully at this photo, you will see a Bodhi leaf at the left corner...XD)

This is the Dharma Wheel.
The eight words in the wheel are:
-thoughts(wisdom)
-understanding(wisdom)
-speech(morality)
-action(morality)
-livelihood(morality)
-effort(mental culture)
-mindfulness(mental culture)
-concentration(mental culture)

This is a model of a Stupa,

What is a Stupa?
One of the stupas in India

A stupa is a mound that enshrines the relics of the Noble Ones e.g. relics of a Samma Sanbuddha, Paccekha Buddha, Arahant or a Righteous King.
It is a reminder of the good qualities of the Noble Ones and an inspiration to walk the paths of Enlightenment(the Ultimate Happiness)

The significance of the Stupa Architecture

The top pointy part, is called Crystal, it radiates the Light Of Wisdom.

The lower part is called pinnacle, it signifies Full Realisation of the Four Noble Truths and the Noble
Eightfold Path as the Path to Liberation.

Lower, the path that looks like seven rings is called seven-tier rings, it means the seven factors of Enlightenment. Including, Equanimity, Concentration, Tranquality, Rapture, Energy,
Investigation of Dhamma, and Mindfulness.

Lower again, there are two square platforms. It's the perception of The Four Noble Truths
Dukkha-the unsatisfactoriness of life
The Cause
The Cessation
The path leading to cessation

Below the semi-sphere, there is a octagonal platform, it signifies the noble eightfold path
-right understanding
-right thoughts
-tight speech
-right action
-right livelihood
-right  effort
-right mindfulness
-right concentration

Lastly the lowest part, that's the five steps. It signifies The Five Precepts,
-To abstain from killing
-To abstain from stealing
-To abstain from sexual misconduct
-To abstain from false speech
-To abstain from intoxicants

A game about right mindfulness

This is a game prepared, it shows us what need to do to reach Happiness.
Can find and ask me personally if you want to know how to play this game... ^^

A model of how dana is done
Behind of this model is a banner of ten meritorious deeds.
-charity
-morality
-mental culture
-reverence or respect
-service in helping others
-rejoicing in the merits of others
-preaching and reaching the dhamma
-listening to the dahamma
-straightening one's views

The steps of pain
What hurts?
-cravings hurts
-anger hurts
-pride hurts

 As we continue walking...

This is a section for those elderly to rest...

Then we came across a section that we can take a photo and see it transform to the picture when we get old one day.
My image spoilt...haha...

Next... we can write our wishes or greetings in a strip of star paper,
then fold it and put it into a bottle...
Metta Star folding Section

Then we can tie it up, and decide whether to take it home,
or put it at another table to let others take it home...

Then, there is also a section where we can copy Sutta.

small reading corner
At this place we can read some of the Buddha's story...

Why is there so many people gathering there?
And why is this place in a small box?
Well, because there is a small "so called" pond there.- Metta Pond.
The steps to operate the effects of the pond.

A short clip- operating the metta pond

The meaning behind this pond is...

This trip to this exhibition, let me learnt a lot, so, I hope you guys too have learnt something after reading this ... :)
