2014 CNY

Really sorry for this late blog...As I was kinda busy these days with meetings, etc...

Well, this will be the blog that I will talk about my "2014CNY "... :)

 

In the Chinese calendars, there are 12 zodiacs-- Rat,Bull,Tiger,Rabbit,Dragon,Snake,Horse,Goat,Monkey.Rooster,Dog and the Pig.

And is the year of the horse.

During New Year Eve...

Preparing food for praying to our ancestors...

 After praying(or we say, after our ancestors has eaten), we can start eating...

 

 At night...

As it was New Years' Eve, we had reunion dinner--- Steamboat+Poon Choi

Yummy...

 Some may not know what is Poon Choi, Poon Choi is made up of many kinds of food, for example, abalone, prawns, scallops, mushrooms etc...

 and put into a big basin to be served.

Yum... Yum... Yum...

 

After eating, we have to start preparing for the night prayers,

 that's to invite Cai Shen, or said as the God Of Fortune to pay us a visit... X)

 

 Below: Things are arranged nicely on the prayer table...

(P/S: These are just part of the things, there is more, till we almost didn't had place to put the things... :P )

Then we started praying...

Snacks and tea are served on the table for the god to eat...

 

On the third day of CNY, we booked a room at a restaurant to have lunch, and had out second reunion dinner...

Before we had any normal dishes, we had Yu Sheng as our appetizer,

as it has the meaning of good luck...

Yu Sheng is normally found in Chinese restaurant during CNY.

 Then each of us uses a pair of chopsticks, and in the count of three, we mixed all the ingredients together, and at the same time giving greetings to all...

The action of doing this is called Lou Sang...

 

After that we had our normal dishes...

Later on, we had our last activity, and also something I had been looking forward to. 

We organized a talent competition + lucky draw between our family members,

On that day, only did I realize my family is full of talents... :)
